 Davidoff is a Swiss Luxury brand of tobacco products. Although they are no longer sold in the US (because of a legal dispute over trademarks) they are sold in over 100 countries worldwide. They are especially popular in Taiwan, Greece and the Middle East. They are also available to all countries (including the US) through internet retailers, making it possible for almost anyone in any country to try a Davidoff cigarette.
Davidoff Cigarettes are named after their creator Zino Davidoff. Zino Davidoff was born in Kiev, Ukraine in 1906. As small child, his family fled political turmoil in the Ukraine by immigrating to Geneva, Switzerland in 1911. His parents had worked in the tobacco industry in Kiev and in Geneva they continued in the industry by opening a small tobacco shop in 1912. Zino grew up being around the tobacco industry and culture all of his life. As a young adult, he spent several years in South America improving his knowledge of the industry but learning all he could to perfect his parent’s business. He later returned to Switzerland to take over and grow his parent’s business to what you see in today’s world.
Davidoff Cigarettes are currently owned by the Imperial Tobacco Company and are manufactured in three separate factories. Imperial Tobacco acquired Davidoff Cigarettes trademark in 2006 after having a long term lease on the brand and name since 2002.
There is a wide variety of cigarette styles offered under the Davidoff brand name. From the Ukraine we get the Davidoff Classic, Davidoff Gold (Lights), Davidoff One, Davidoff Slim Classic 100’s, Davidoff Slim Gold (Lights) 100’s, Davidoff Slim One 100’s, and the Davidoff Supreme. From Russia, we get the similar styles of Davidoff Classic, Lights, Ultra Lights, Slim Classic100’s, Slim Lights 100’s, and Slim Ultra Light 100’s. We also get Davidoff B&W Black, B&W White, Neon Red, Neon Silver and Neon White from Russia. As you can see there are many different styles to choose from in several different countries around the world. Many of these styles are also available for online ordering, making them more accessible to the rest of the world.
The packaging for Davidoff Cigarettes is very elegant and gives the impression of high quality. The cigarettes are all packaged in a flip top hard box. Except for the B&W and Neon Styles, the boxes all feature the Davidoff name printed across the box in a delicate script. |
